-
Compact Structure, Easy Installation and Maintenance
- The overall dimensions of the two models are uniformly 1780×984×1388mm, which is compact and does not occupy too much engine room space, suitable for the space layout of most small and medium-sized inland and coastal vessels.
- The crankshaft rotation direction is uniformly set to counterclockwise (facing the power output end), which is compatible with mainstream marine gearboxes and auxiliary equipment, reducing the difficulty of installation and commissioning.
- The lubricating oil capacity is 37L, and the maintenance cycle is clear. The daily maintenance work such as oil change and filter element replacement is simple and easy to operate, which shortens the vessel downtime caused by maintenance.
-
Pre-start Inspection
- Check the oil level of the lubricating oil: Ensure that the oil level is between the upper and lower limit marks of the oil dipstick; if it is insufficient, make up the specified model of marine Diesel Engine oil in time.
- Check the coolant level: Confirm that the coolant in the water tank is sufficient, and check whether the pipeline has leakage.
- Check the fuel quantity: Ensure that the diesel oil meets the marine use standard, and the fuel tank has sufficient fuel.
- Check the electrical system: Verify that the battery voltage is normal, and the circuit connection is firm without loosening.
-
Start-up Operation
- Turn on the power switch of the engine control panel, and confirm that the instrument indicators are normal.
- For the main engine: Adjust the throttle to the idle position, press the start button, and the engine will start at low speed. After the oil pressure and water temperature reach the normal range, gradually increase the speed to the rated 1800r/min.
- For the auxiliary engine: Ensure that it is connected to the corresponding auxiliary equipment, press the start button, and the engine will run stably at 1500r/min; it is strictly forbidden to run beyond the rated speed without permission.
-
Operation Monitoring
- During the operation of the engine, regularly check the readings of the instrument panel, including oil pressure, water temperature, fuel consumption, etc. If the parameters exceed the normal range, stop the machine for inspection in time.
- Listen to the running sound of the engine. If there is abnormal noise such as knocking and friction, shut down immediately to avoid mechanical failure.
- For the main engine, pay attention to the matching with the vessel's propulsion system, and avoid sudden acceleration and deceleration during navigation to reduce mechanical wear.
-
Shutdown Operation
- Normal shutdown: First reduce the engine speed to idle speed, run for 3-5 minutes to cool down the components, then turn off the fuel switch and press the stop button.
- Emergency shutdown: In case of major faults such as oil shortage, water shortage, and severe leakage, pull the emergency stop switch immediately; after the shutdown, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the engine to eliminate the fault before restarting.

Captain Li, Inland Cargo Vessel Operator
"We installed the CM6D28C main engine on our 500-ton cargo ship last year. It has been navigating the Yangtze River for more than 10,000 nautical miles. The power is very sufficient, even when fully loaded against the current, it does not feel weak. The most satisfying thing is the fuel consumption, which is about 10% lower than the previous engine, saving a lot of costs every month."
